Finding the sweet spot in camera trapping: A global synthesis and meta‐analysis of minimum sampling effort

چکیده
Camera traps are one of the most common tools in wildlife and conservation biology. Sampling can document measure animal presence activity. Captures be used to estimate population parameters such as presence, abundance, habitat suitability, resident species richness specific populations. Effective camera trapping is relevant for many reasons. For instance, they inform pre- post-restoration efforts, monitor use artificial structures by assess behaviours like predator–prey interactions. This sampling approach aid assessing diversity change, structure effects, behaviour. We reviewed literature collect data incidence effect size measures both vertebrate abundance examine relative efficacy deploying more a given period different ecosystems. Increasing effort through an increased number cameras significantly net positive detection rates grasslands mixed Net mixed, tropical, deciduous, grassland ecosystems similarly with deployed. The total days, however, was not significant predictor or detected any ecosystem. These findings suggest that relatively fewer days provides effective estimates region.

Finding your innovation sweet spot.
Most new product ideas are either uninspired or impractical. So how can developers hit the innovation sweet spot--far enough from existing products to attract real interest but close enough that they are feasible to make and market? They can apply five innovation patterns that manipulate existing components of a product and its immediate environment to come up with something both ingenious and ...

H eart failure patients with left ventricular (LV) ejection fractions of <35% who are on optimal medical therapy with QRS durations of $120 ms on surface electrocardiography have derived clinical benefit from cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT). Although this wellestablished and guideline-recommended treatment has shown reductions in heart failure progression and risk for ventricular tachya...

Human activities, such as trade, agriculture, and recreation, have relocatedmuch of the world’s flora and fauna across geographical space. Although some newly introduced species have faltered, many have thrived and spread spatially, modifying their new environments. Notorious invaders, such as zebra mussels or gypsy moths, have wreaked ecological and economic havoc (1). The vast, uncontrolled e...
متن کاملHow long is enough to detect terrestrial animals? Estimating the minimum trapping effort on camera traps
Camera traps is an important wildlife inventory tool for estimating species diversity at a site. Knowing what minimum trapping effort is needed to detect target species is also important to designing efficient studies, considering both the number of camera locations, and survey length. Here, we take advantage of a two-year camera trapping dataset from a small (24-ha) study plot in Gutianshan Na...
